A workspace is an account boundary for credits and usage — your personal workspace, or a shared organization workspace if your team is set up with one.
If you use coworkers both for your own work and as part of a team, you probably don’t want those two kinds of usage pooled into one number — one workspace keeps your personal experimenting separate from what your team is spending together, and vice versa.
Each workspace has its own balance and its own 30-day usage total, tracked completely separately. If you’re part of an organization workspace (set up through Sokosumi), its spend is independent of your personal one.

If your team wants to see spend broken out by project or department rather than pooled into one number, separate workspaces make that possible. From the Credits page, you can drill into any workspace and then into any individual task to see exactly what it cost.
Not sure which workspace a task ran in? Every task in the console shows its workspace alongside its cost.
If a task can’t go through because its workspace is out of credits, ask Elena — she checks every workspace you belong to and can tell you whether switching the task to a different one (say, from an organization workspace to your personal one) would let it through.
